名古屋大學成立於1871年，位於日本的愛知縣，是日本的一所國立研究型綜合大學，其前身為1871年設置的臨時醫院和臨時醫學校，1939年正式成立名古屋帝國大學，為日本國內七所帝國大學之一。在2018年QS世界大學排名排名116，2016上海交大學術排名榜(ARMU)中，排名其僅次於東京大學與京都大學。
